ARCHBISHOP’S ENGAGEMENTS
 
PRIESTS’ GATHERING: Archbishop Terrence Prendergast, S.J. invites all incardinated priests and priests having a diocesan appointment to a gathering of priests on Thurs., June 20 at the Diocesan Centre, 1247 Kilborn at 2:00 p.m. and closing with dinner (all ending by 8:00 p.m.).  Fr. Douglas Martis, Ph.D., S.T.D., priest of the Diocese of Joliet, Illinois; Director of the Liturgical Institute of the University of St. Mary of the Lake and Chair of the Worship Department at Mundelein Seminary of the Archdiocese of Chicago will be leading, in French and in English, our sessions on the theme of “Mass Misconception:  Liturgical Renewal and fruitful participation in Catholic liturgy”.  Simultaneous translation.  If you have not already done so, please advise of your presence or absence (613-738-5025 ext. 211); (rsvp@archottawa.ca) as soon as possible.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM DIOCESAN ADMINISTRATION ON THE T3010-1 – REGISTERED CHARITY INFORMATION RETURN: A reminder to parishes that the deadline to file the T3010-1 charity report with the Canada Revenue Agency is June 30th, 2013.   A parish which does not file its T3010-1 report in time could see its charity status revoked.  A guide to help complete the charity report can be downloaded from the diocese's website www.archottawa.ca ; on the top menu, click on Administration/Forms/Parish Year end Report/2012 T3010-1 Guide.  For further details, please contact Philippe Courchesne (pcourchesne@archottawa.ca); (613-738-5025, ext. 240).

CATECHESIS OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD (CGS) INFO SESSION: As the next step to promote development of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd in the diocese, parishes are invited to send a representative to a CGS Info Session on Wed., June 19, 7:00 p.m. at St. George Parish (415 Picadilly). All interested parents, pastors, present & potential catechists are invited. Formation leaders from the GS Association of Canada will present materials & methods, and share details of Level 1 Formation Course planned for 2013-2014. Grand Opening OF St. George’s Parish Hall: St. George’s Parish, 415 Piccadilly Ave., will host the grand opening of the newly renovated Parish Hall on Sunday, June 23.  Reverend Archbishop Terrence Prendergast will celebrate Mass at 10:30 a.m.  Following Mass, a ribbon cutting ceremony will take place to officially open the hall.  Mayor Jim Watson and Councillor Katherine Hobbs will be attendance.  Everyone is welcome.
